matricide without tears

Matricide without Tears was a talk by the well known and highly respected academic, Dr Peter Jones, broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in 1995. It featured Mark Katz and Tamsin Shasha performing extracts from Sophocles’ and and Euripides’ Electra as well as readings from the journals of writer and psychiatrist, Heinrich Hoffman.

The talk was presented during a performance of Strauss’ Elektrabroadcast from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, introduced by Jim Naughtie.
