After a sell-out tour in 2010, nationally acclaimed aod are back this Autumn 2011 with their unique take on Greek drama and their recent and ‘thunderously successful‘ (Anglo-Hellenic Review) Lysistrata. We shall be appearing at Kingston’s beautiful Rose Theatre from 7-11th Nov. Evening performances commence at 7.30pm with matinées at 2.30pm on the 8th and 10th.
Post show discussions will take place after each evening show and a series of pre-performance talks is being arranged to be held in the upstairs foyer an hour before the show. Numbers for the pre-performance talks are strictly limited and will be restricted to ticket holders only. Tickets are priced at £15; £12 and £8. Educational discounts apply. Follow our heroine, Lysistrata, and the women of Greece in their (not always heartfelt!) battle to deny their men sex in order to stop a bloody war. As tensions mount, frustrations erupt, and phalluses reach bursting point see who wins and if peace is restored in this high octane, hugely enjoyable and absurdist version of Aristophanes’ masterpiece.
