CLASSIC DAYS

Our specially curated Classics Days involve both academic and practical exploration of Ancient Greek drama, and offer larger groups of students the opportunity to take part over a longer period of time.

Classics Days usually run for the whole day and are suitable for Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 Drama, Classics, History or English students, and undergraduates. We work with multiple Greek plays, and sessions are tailored toward different age groups. 2 or 3 members of our company lead the event, each bringing a different area of expertise and teaching style with them, to give students a fuller understanding of the context and conventions of Greek drama.

Classics Days may involve a dynamic powerpoint presentation, an imaginative lecture, discussion groups, practical workshops and short performances/performed readings from aod.

This was a great experience for our students to learn more about the Ancient theatre from both talks and active participation in becoming a chorus. It was well-received by the students, who had known very little before the day and who enjoyed acting in groups together, however quiet or confident they were.”
